I doubt Compaq is going to hit $100 per share real soon. That aside, I would agree that it's better to wait on the sidelines right now unless you are a professional trader who watches the tape full time. Like you, I'm neither long nor short Compaq at the moment.

In my opinion this is basically a very good company that has some near term problems that will likely take a few quarters to sort out. I'm going to keep watching and stay on the sidelines unless we get down into the $17 - $19 range. If so, I'd buy in with the intention of holding for as much as a year.
