SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Celeritek, Inc. (Nasdaq: CLTK - news) announced today a new 10W,
GaAs FET, solid-state power amplifier designed for digital PCS base station transmit applications operating in the 1930 to
1990 MHz frequency range. The compact amplifier module, PCS-19010MA, operates from a single +12 volt supply and
meets the high dynamic range requirements of CDMA and TDMA modulation schemes, and well as DSC1800/PCS1900
applications.
The expanding demand for enhanced PCS infrastructure coverage has created the need for low power repeater, picocell, and
mini-BTS systems. These products must be compact, cost-effective and less obtrusive within the environment -- yet afford
wireless operators higher capacity at lower cost-per-subscriber. Celeritek's new integrated transmit power amplifier module
represents a cost effective, low voltage, high MTBF transmit solution to this demand.
Amplifier model PCS-19010MA measuring less than 3'' long x 2'' wide x 1/2'' high is the ideal 10W solution for microcells,
picocells, repeaters and pole-top designs. The amplifier is available as an integrated 50 Ohm drop-in module significantly
speeding the development process. Electrical performance of the GaAs technology-based design provides 15 dB of gain, 41
dBm P-1dB and 52 dBm IP3. The PCS-19010MA includes DC/DC converters, an on board regulator, and MOSFET
switches for power management. In conjunction with Celeritek's CMM1333 driver RFIC, a low cost, compact 40dB gain
transmit line up using only two components (resulting in higher MTBF) is one design iteration away.
Celeritek's complete in-house manufacturing facility guarantees quality and reliability in each step of the amplifier manufacturing
process, and is designed to produce high-volume, high-reliability commercial communication products. Samples are in stock
and 1,000 piece quantities are priced at $250.00 per unit.
