I think not. The layoffs are probably just the first of many this year as 3COM transitions to all of their new products. Much of the time it is just part of the stupidity of big business. Can'um at one door and turn around and hire'um at another door. Used to happen every year in aerospace. Turns out good people are hard to find and can be retrained after all. Could this news be taken as a hint that they won't meet earnings? o~~~ O
