I'm talking about real life work, photoshop, After Effects, Director and 3D programs that are available on both platforms. Real machines such as Intergraph machines (which are optomized for graphics) vs. standard G3 machines. Not much difference in hard drive performance. But the scussy buss is worlds ahead of what Wintels come with.

If you look at impartial magazines such as DV or Byte you'll see that Macs do indeed smoke Pentiums.

I was refering to Zip removeable drives not the compression app. They run on the scuzzy bus on Apples and on parellel ports on Wintels hence the speed difference.
