You're the only one who has replied so far...

The equity premium is the average rate of return which shareholders demand over holding treasury bills - supposedly to compensate for the additional risk. It has been computed from the average inflation adjusted rate of return on stocks over the last 70 years or so relative to the after inflation return on treasury bills. Treasury bills are supposedly the highest yielding risk free investment.
