Do you actually think a MM will buy shares from you at the ask? I doubt it. If you want to short at the ask your best shot is using one of the ECN's (INCA, ISLD, TNTO, ....) and offer it at the ask. If you want to short at the bid you can use Selectnet to pick off the MM you want.
