I recommend to a lot of folks as well.. but usually I get something along these lines:

"I've heard/read a lot about these cheap PC's.. are they any good"

replace cheap PC's with whatever.. At say at least 50% of first time buyers purchase based on a combination of advice/reading., 25% base it on the $ and sales pitch. I still say at least 80% do SOME reading first..
