I heard that Placer Dome recently laid off a bunch of people at their Vancouver headoffice to cut cost. I was told the whole project team for Las Cristinas was permanently laid off. Looks like Placer figure they've lost already. Also heard from Balmertown, Ontario that Placer may take a run at taking over Goldcorp. Anybody heard anything?
