Tonight I re-read an article I had bookmarked early last year; and for those looking for a clearer picture of Intel's driving forces behind their plans for the future, I am reposting the url here. The article is from Fortune's February 17, 1997 edition and is entitled INTEL'S AMAZING PROFIT MACHINE. Although the numbers are a year old now, the basic conclusions of the article are still valid and bear keeping in mind by all long-term and would-be long-term Intel investors. Short-term investors need not bother - better to just keep trying to predict short term perceptions.

BTW, it's interesting to note that this article said that the top of the line at that time were 200mhz PPros. How soon we forget considering 450mhz chips will be available one month from now.
