bay and cabletron derive revenues from different end users than cisco does. cisco keeps winning a few share points every quarter so they must be moving slowly down market. bay and c-tron are not moving up market and they can't move down market cuz 3com is there. so bay and cabletron are stuck.

intel is taking what little share bay has down down market. compaq couldn't even break into the networking space in the low,mid or high end. now compaq hired bj as there new networking guru...what a loser. bj ran ibm's network products division and dec's networking division before that. both were net loses and lacked corporate leadership to manage the previous largest R&D networking budgets around. bj is now going to be a three time loser.
i believe analysts know that bay doesn't affect csco but they might not mind the whole networking sector going south so they can buy it a bargain prices. just cuz some compaq and sgi are having problems in the server market doesn't mean we all know Dell is kicking butt on all of them. bay is like silicon graphics and most pension fund and mutuals know it.
who knows a good net management and/or wireless data company out there?
