Thanks for posting the article; however, I discount it's impact
against Iomega primary on the price point. Syquest has already
proven that price alone doesn't make a difference when they practically gave away their EZ135, nor did the higher capacity of their 230mb version make an impact. I believe the Olympus 230 is in
the same category as Syquest and will have little impact at all on
the market. The major sales of Iomega zips right now are as a consumer item (not OEMs)..you just can't get consumers excited when the price is above $199...(Iomega did their research on this and is why they chose this price point). It doesn't matter that the capacity is doubled if you can't meet a price point a consumer is willing to pay. When you start pricing storage at $299 then consumers start thinking about what they can buy a 1.2gb hard drive for...the value of the removable aspect falls short of the precieved "value" of the storage capacity.
