I asked our resident tax expert about your question, and you may roll stocks from a traditional IRA to a Roth (as Charles already has told you). Off topic, though, had the stock been in a qualified retirement plan (your employer gives you stock in your company on a deferred basis), you would first need to sell it, pay taxes, and then roll it over.
