Lot of upside action on this issue recently (!). Got a Magicom 2000 brochure from a friend at work who has attended a real live marketing presentation. He said the product looked very impressive and, while skeptical, I must admit that the brochure depicts a product that if complete would be extremely compelling. The Unit has approximately a 6" by 5" screen on the right and a standard telephone on the left. A scanner is built into the bottom. I don't know about everyone else but I would die to have one of those puppies on my desk. The relevant specs on the brochure are:

FAX
Doc Memory : 80 pgs
Fax Speed : 14.4k
Telephone
Speed Dial : 100 stations
Voice Memory : 12 mins
E-Paper Screen
6.4"H x 4.5"W
200 pix/inch x 200 pix/inch
Computer
2400 BPS Data Modem
X Modem protocol
Scanner
CIS Contact Image Sensor
8.7" width
High res: 203 pix/inch x 196 lines/inch
Printer
Print Emulation : Magic Printer
Reports: Speed Dial List
General
Parallel DB-25 Connector
Serial DB9
Cellular RJ-11C

While this stock has been a short sellers domain for quite some time I do not concur with their assessment that COPY's product is pure vapor. A very reliable source here has seen a demo and indicates the product looks extremely impressive; especially the screen brightness/contrast. Assuming they can take this thing to market it does have mass potential. The real key is that screen, though. It is the only thing that a big consumer electronics competitor could not easily replicate at low cost; strikes me just about anyone could right now do a FAX/phone/printer/scanner combo.
