The particular application is for Industrial use not a consumer item.
There is cost savings in the manufacturing of thousands to millions of PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards). Each Digital camera, PC, TV, RADIO, Telephone, Automobile, Sony, Sega and Nintendo game consoles, etc has one or more PCBs. Millions of PCBs are made each day all over the world. All this means is less Silver consumption. Not that it will happen over night but it will happen.
Check Kodak and see what percentage of there Film revenues comes from
the PCB market to see if it is insignificant.
