mb...those were just exmples of other companies..pick anyone of the lower teir players...
they are squeeze out and the survivors end up with a bigger market share.
This isn't a new deal..it is what has happened repeatedly in the pc industry.
All your arguments have been heard before and they turned out not to be true....
take it from someone who has follwoed this for day 1.
Go research the very first wave of new players coming into this.
I forget the yr but 1985-86 I think..Not positive. AFTER THE SHAKE OUT COMPAQ ENDED UP GOING FROM 503MM IN 1985 TO 1.2B(86) AND 2.1B(88).
PRETTY IMPRESSIVE.
Surely, there are 1000's of companies that could throw those numbers up w/o acquistions?????? 503mm to 1.2b to 2.1b...The thing that made the stock go down was the foreign competition... street was positive that it would doom cpq.

So, we are still at the same place....you are way too early....... the fall is months off and no sense paying too much for stikes that are too low.
