Is Shalom trying to be rude or understanding. He is insulting to any American who believes that their Confederate descendants were people of God. Many Confederate soldiers and citizens disagreed with the Union, to suggest that it was simply people who misunderstood the Bible is laughable.
Many people who call themselves Christian find this type of simple approach to the Bible insulting. Shalom is of course justified in saying whatever he wants.
So Shalom
Would you find it acceptable to own slaves.
Please tell everyone how clear Gods word is on this.
Please fell free to quote Scripture that shows your point.
When you post your Feelings, people read it, when you post Gods word, people read it. Do not confuse the two. You may claim the Bible says whatever you want, the Confederate Churches did, Hitler did, Fra Savanarola did. Jesus is love, not intolerance, ignorance and hatred.
All you have to do is find a person using Christ and his wonderful teachings to support their own fears and you know that problems may develop. Chris land doesn't think Shalom should highlight any Scripture, he finds this offensive.
