SAP AG Proposes Increase in 1997 Dividend
WALLDORF, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 1998--The Supervisory Board of SAP AG, the world's leading provider of client/server business applications, today approved an increase in SAP's dividend to shareholders, as part of its policy to allow shareholders to participate in and benefit from SAP's success.

The recommendation is subject to approval at the Annual Shareholders Meeting scheduled for May 7, 1998.

If approved, the dividend will rise from DM 1.80 DM to DM 2.80 per share of DM 5 common stock, and from DM 1.85 DM to DM 2.85 per share of DM 5 preferred stock. The proposed dividend represents an increase of 22.5% from the 1996 dividend, to DM 294 million. Notwithstanding the special anniversary dividend payment in 1996 of DM 0.50 per ordinary and preferred share, the proposed dividend will increase by 56.2%. The dividend will be paid on May 8, 1998, the day following the Annual Shareholders Meeting.

SAP AG preference and common shares are listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, as well as a number of other exchanges. SAP is a component of the DAX, the index of 30 German blue chip companies. In the US, SAP's unrestricted ADR, each equivalent to one-third of an SAP preference share, trades over the counter under the symbol ''SAPHY''.
