A pretty good movie, actually. Barbarians at the gate was about the leveraged buyout of RJR/Nabisco. The CEO of the company put together a group to buy it (American Express), KKR had a bid in on it, and there was another I can't recall.

The movie, from time to time, showed the chairman and the board mulling over the offers. When it began, shareholders were to receive $80 a share. When it ended, with KKR in control, the shareholders got $110.

If you recall from prior postings, I brought this up in response to the comment (and this is paraphrased) the leaders of the company only want their money, and don't particlarly care if you (the shareholder) make money or not.

The inference with the movie Barbarians at the Gate was a means of responding that was not true. It's my hope Zulu will always care about its shareholders. But I guess some of you haven't recognized that Tom Burgess has been helpful.
