The institutions are largely out of the high-tech stocks right now, IMO. Analysts have 12 month targets for IDT of around 18 - few institutional investors are going to jump on board at this time in the quarter when earnings disappointments are frequent and valuations are already considered high. We need for some upward adjustment in the forecasts before institutions will get back in. Without them in the game, the smaller investor does not have enough enthusiasm to push the stock up. For now, IDTI is swimming against the tide.

Perham said that IDTI was going to focus on the products families that are already or soon to be in the pipeline. He also aims to trim costs. Indications of how well these efforts to bring greater profits to the bottom line are doing will effect the stock.

We are in the "nervous period" before the end of the quarter. I expect some disappointments in earnings in the tech sector that may draw down interest. It's good to watch how earnings are going and what companies say about the outlook. One posible spoiler in the mix is that Intel may report increased erosion of uP sales and the anals may dump on tech stocks in reaction. It's a bit of wait and see time. I am disappointed that IDTI hasn't moved up at least a point or 1 1/2. IMO a further, modest move up is likely despite what happens in other tech stocks.
