That's exactly what he does. Iomega has been relying heavily on market research ever since KE took over.

According to the last CC, his latest research indicated that pricing actions alone were not going to stimulate demand for Zip, because there wasn't enough consumer awareness of the need for removable storage. Hence the ad campaign instead of lower prices.

It's easy to say he's wrong, but we haven't seen the research.

Here are some random thoughts in response to many of today's posts.

KE cannot just wave a magic wand and make lower prices profitable. Selling product at a loss doesn't produce profits. Look at SyQuest.

If Iomega could ship Clik! today, they would do it. The fact that they aren't shipping it clearly indicates that the product isn't ready.

If they could suddenly come up with a bunch of new products, or even one new product, that would be as big a hit as Zip was, they would do it. The fact is, hits like Zip are rare in any business.
