Jane First of all, Thank YOU for YOUR honesty.
It is absolutely your right to live in an area that is homogenous and full of people that you relate to. As long as that area stays that way of its own volition and NOT through the persucution(sp) of others.
I don't want to attribute my own thoughts/feelings to people, but I really feel the need to say something to you. In your post, I got the impression that the only thing holding you back from opening up to people is a little fear. Fear of the unknown. The unknown of people you dont know wheather they are like you, or different, or dangerous or not. If that is the case, I would only say that most groups of people are the same. Some are nice and some are decidedly not so nice. Most are just trying to get by, and if treated with kindness will return the same to you.
If these are not your feelings, I apolgize, and meant no disrespect. I would be happy to continue this conversation if you would like to.
