A good post from Yahoo Ascend thread:

The people over on the SI thread constantly talk about option expiration keeping the price below 35
until Friday. But, aren't there Mar call options at 30? Wouldn't both the 30 and 35 options expire
worthless if ASND closed at 30 on Friday? Is it possible that the MMs are trying to bring ASND down
to 30 by Friday for this purpose (explaining the sudden nosedive to 32 at the end of the day?)

I tend to believe that ASND will hit their numbers for this quarter, based upon 1) the posting on SI by
the person who attended the J.P. Morgan conference last week and heard them say they would make
the quarter, 2) the article on thestreet.com that says they will make the quarter, and 3) the EVEREN
upgrade a while back, in which they stated Ascend's ability to meet expectations was the reason for the
upgrade.

I have heard nothing but speculation that they will miss the quarter, and that is based upon the falling
stock price and other networkers not meeting expectations.

The way it's going, though, it looks like ASND will be at 29 by the time they announce that they made
the quarter, causing a pop to 34 instead of to 40, where it should have been. IMHO.
