Ron, I explored this with several of the people from the Receiver's office. Apparently, a con man weaves his web so adeptly that people in support positions (i.e., staff) are the last to know. More than one official has told me how "good" was at his game. It was imperative to his goal(s) that his home-base keeps confidence in him. Those of us who stayed around all felt stupid, bewildered, etc.; we had really been taken advantage of. Like how could we not have known something was up. The truth is we all knew something, but not enough. That's what the investigation came to realize. As one-by-one each of us were interviewed, then re-interviewed, a scheme seemed to unfold.
There is ample proof to support the 17 indictments against Mohamed. Someone told me the Attorney General here had a 90+ win record for convictions. What's 90% of 17 indictments? (Mama Zayed told me that her attorney told her that with Mo's past, even one conviction meant 20 years!)BTW have you seen the indictments? Mo never had an insurance license and ignored multiple warnings to cease and desist his insuance activities. We actually discovered a drawer full of unopened notices to Mohamed from the court which he had hidden away and ignored.
I can assure you that Mohamed had secretly fought the rumors of his past for at least 3 or 4 months. And, I have established from an original fax sent to the GIFS offices from Gayle Essary that the press release acknowledging Mo's past was authored by Essary. Only one insignificant sentence even had any editing. BTW, I have a copy of an email written from Essary to another party admitting he wrote it; he later denied any knowledge of it.
Also, Mr. Essary and his co-horts at the (I believe will be proven) hatched a scheme to manipulate the stock prices. The stock you refer to:
" Our favorite "journalist" told me that, as I recall, that he did not even consider the 150,000 shares as a credible "tender" for this transaction and that they had offered the shares against money to be delivered in the future."
Was this the IRI stock, the Money Magazine stock, or the multiple shares transferred to Doug Furth via the Canadian broker? BTW do you know who the IRI Board of Directors are?
