Folks, I am not, and never have been an investor in CTXS, but am interested in keeping in touch with the technology issues and what's going on with thin client/multi-user NT. I am neither a bull nor a bear on Citrix stock. (Mind you, although I do see Citrix's short-term dominance in the remote windows session/app deployment market, I am also looking into where the competition will be soon).

Here's another item of information, just extracted from between the pages of PC Week March 16 1998:

"Unlike many Microsoft Betas, Terminal Server Beta 2 (Hydra) is so solid that it's hard to understand why the product won't ship until midyear.......the Remote Desktop Protocol client, which will ship free with Terminal Server, still performs on par with WinFrame ICA protocol"

I have a feeling that when MIS Managers start to look at pICAsso pricing, and then look at what they get with Hydra for free, things are going to get very interesting. Citrix, with Java clients however, do have a cross-platform client advantage.

Interesting, eh?

Tally-ho,

Ray
