SAN FRANCISCO TO BE THE SITE FOR U.S.'s FIRST ELECTRIC BIKE STORE

SAN FRANCISCO, California (March 18, 1998) - Electric bike maker ZAP Power
Systems (OTC BB:ZAPP-news) announced that San Francisco will be the site
for the U.S.'s first electric bike store. The store is located at 2715 Hyde
Street near Fisherman's Wharf and will also double as an EV bike/scooter
rental and parts-purchasing outlet. The date of the opening coincides with
the opening of a sister store in China.

"This is an historic first," said ZAP's managing director Gary Starr.
"Nowhere else in the world, till now, has there been a store dedicated to
the viewing, demo-ing, renting and selling of small, low-powered electric
vehicles. We at ZAP are proud that San Francisco is this nation's first
city to launch a store of this kind. It was tapped because San Franciscans
in general seem to understand the importance of using such vehicles for fun
and the pursuit of conservation of our precious resources. We expect that
residents and tourists alike will use our electric bikes and scooters to
tour some of San Francisco's most scenic areas."
