Ligand has a good chance to deliver the earning growth I speak about?

How? They have no earnings.

They have a pipeline with many products in development. That increases the odds they might get one.

I guess of all the risky, speculative biotechs, LGND might be one of the better, risky, speculative biotechs. They don't, however, have the kind of good chance to deliver the earnings growth I am talking about. Companies with a better chance have a solid history of earnings and earnings growth. Factually speaking, these companies are much more likely to produce good results for investors.

<< And the important thing is with Ligand you start with an undervalued stock while the good growth stocks are often very expensive. >>

I don't know what you mean by very expensive. The companies that are most likely to produce great results for investors in terms of percentage rate of return are ones with great earnings and great earnings growth. The little unproven companies are much less likely to produce these results. Often the better companies have a higher P/E ratio. That's for a reason. Factually speaking they are doing better and more likely to do better, their share price is climbing and the P/E ratio is going up.

LGND has no P/E ratio! It is not poised to rise quickly at 30% or 40% a year in the next year or two or three. It is a speculative play. The chances of it being a solid winner are less than with other issues.

If I am looking for a winner that is likely to break out, LGND does not seem to have anywhere near the chances of many other companies.
