That is a great article and extremely helpful. I had no intention of mentioning neutron analysis when I asked the question as I am evaluating one of these weird gold plays which was the purpose of my post. However the article you mentioned prompts me to mention the new Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion Process than allows for a new type of ore analysis that Daimler Benz and Rhombic Corp. have been developing. You can read something of it at www.rhombic.com or even better in the British Journal, The New Scientist, Dec 13 l997 which ran an article entitled "Neutrons For Sale" where it says, among other things, "A neutron source would allow them (mining companies) to measure the impurities in an ore as it is being mined, or the proportion of minerals remaining in mine waste and whether it is worth reprocessing." In another section it says, "Specialist metal smelters ...will be able to monitor the composition and quality of their alloys in real time.."
