I don't think the stock option plan involves many shares.
I may be overreacting, but things like this spook me, especially
when dealing with small cap stocks, which involve dilution issues. Your point is well taken regarding attracting good people with options. But I would never issue options to employees, which were already 2 dollars in the money. Where's the incentive to perform here? I guess what I'm saying is that if I had in the money options, I'd exercise them and wait for more. If my options were not in the money, I would work harder.... I'd think about buying at $6, where the options were granted. Good luck with this company.
