Sam, I gave the Olympus item some thought. It sounds like a neat gadget, with a price that should attract attention. Two things occurred to me: (1) when I read the review I thought it might be nice to have, and then I realized that my work group are all using zips. We are a research outfit & not necessarily indicative of the broad market of course. (2) the next step up in size that would be meaningful is 1 G, because I can start backing up the hard drive and *walk away*. That might be an important consideration. You don't have to choose what to back up, you can take it all. I can imagine having both a zip & jaz at some point - but not yet. The jaz is still out of my reach.
