Every day I am confronted with women who has had immediate family members that have either died or been diagnosed with breast cancer. Each day of their lives they spend some time thinking about cancer and will they receive the diagnoses that may mean the loss of their lives. These women know someone close to them who had a mammogram which showed negative results, for the presence of suspicious growth, only a short time later to be diagnosed with advanced stage 4 malignant tumors.
The thickness of a women's breast tissue can and does greatly decrease an accurate and conclusive reading of a mammogram. It is not a perfect technology but it was better than what had been available up to that point.
The women I see, as part of my profession, often are scared and looking for answers. Many often inquire about preventative radical mastectomies to reduce or eliminate the risk of cancer and death. They feel that is their best alternative.
With the technology which is offered by CTI and their equipment, we are on the edge of offering women peace of mind. The size of tumors which this new technology can detect gives a women assurance. Cancer can be detected and treated in an early stage before angeogenesis and metastasis occur.
