As I pointed out to Slide Rule, yes you can install a SCSI card into a Wintel box. It's just that it's extra $ and hassle (more $).

Intergraphs don't come with one.

I need speed, I work with stuff that takes power. Figure it this way, if my time is worth $50 an hour how much more can I make in a year with a computer that renders twice as fast...Lots...

Now add in the time it takes to shop, drive, install a SCSI board. Not worth it econmomically, for me at least.

Besides, Macs open almost any file you can make on a Wintel box. Not all but most. And they're looking pretty good. I'm nearly ready to buy, and I'm a hard sell. Was pricing the 300's today. Only thing I don't like is the buss, damn it. I think you can tune them up a little faster, but I may continue to wait for the new cards with faster buss.
