Article in PC Magazine dated April 7, 1998--page 10

...."another super duper high capacity technology has appeared on the scene (which may supplant DVD)...Norsam HD-ROM disk uses a highly focused beam of charged particles instead of a much larger laser beam...a charged particle beam can focus on a 50 nm spot, Producing..as much as 165 gigabytes of data on a disk." Work is ongoing to develop capability to read off of the disk.
