So, if I short some stock then the funds collected would count against the borrowed funds in margin purchases? I'm a little heavy in semi-related issues, partly into margin and I was considering to short MU to be less exposed. I know it would decrease the margin reserve, but would the "cash balance" (on which I get an 8.5% charge) improve by the amount of MU sale? Thanks. Greg
