Jane,

Glad you answered me, cause now I got to study a little. My first statement is to say that God CAN, but does not HAVE to use history to fit Himself in, as you suggested He did at this time.He could have very well created History, at the given moment.

Second, from what I read in the gospels, people (Jews) were moving about rather freely(as evidenced by the crowds that followed Jesus around during His ministry, even the Pharisees), engaging in commerce, had their own synagogues( Mark 1:29, Matt. 9:35) . The Jews had even set up a system in the temple at Jerusalem to sell doves, and change money.(Matt. 21: 12-14) Want to argue the point whether they were making a profit or not?
It sounds to me that as long as the Jews paid their duty to Rome they were left to take care of themselves. If they were only in a state of siege, they would have never been granted access to the Roman governor,Pilate,(Matt.27:1) and Pilate certainly would not have bantered with the Jews or washed his hands of the affair, effectively putting the blood of Jesus on the Jews, if the Jews were a downtrodden society(Matt. 27: 11-25)

As far as Emile, I am not speaking for or against him as I have not read all the posts. I was asking whether you were saying all German is of satan or whether you were speaking of a cult or a denomination or sect of religion?
