Being accepted at the patent office is a little like getting an audit done: the GARBAGE IN, GARBARGE OUT principle applies. Do you really believe that the patent office does exhaustive background checks on every industry? They do a couple of checks--no red flags appear, they approve the patent. The real fun comes when enforcement is attempted by the patent recipient......then the patent lawyers run up the bill at 400/hr. Don't think that just b/c the guvment say so that this is a valid patent--any lawyer would tell you otherwise
