Technology Stocks : Remedy Taking a hit why?

David, I have also heard that the company does not value the sales force to the extent that other apps companies do (e.g. Siebel). The talk I've heard is that Garlick believes the technology sells itself. Admittedly this is based on limited data-- also, this perception may be a result of Remedy's low average selling price relative to high end CIS vendors (Vantive, Clarify, Scopus)-- telesales becomes more important, expensive direct reps less so.

That being said, the help desk market has got to be growing at at least 30% plus per year. Remedy clearly got a LOT of upside if it can get its sales growing again.

Jean-- regarding Compaq investment versus Remedy. I believe Compaq's still got too much baggage to achieve a direct-sell, assemble-to-order focus which is where they've got to be. Also PC market in some turmoil and price cutting. I would much rather bet on Remedy at this point.
