At $600, I'd definitely buy a Pentium-class PC. But I'd also have an iPhone/webphone in the kitchen at least. Especially if the price drops below $300. Last night, there was a news story on Bay Area TV about the new name+number caller I.D. service in CA, and Cidco was featured. They showed phones and stuff. Apparently, people are steadily unblocking their lines, and as was posted earlier, PacBell is signing up 5600 lines a day for caller I.D. Your iPhone conjecture was interesting. Sounds like a reasonable possibility.
