OK...Who was watching Bloomberg this morning???

If you were, you would have noticed a piece about restructuring at
MacDonald's. They'll be doing such things as discontinuing the Arch
Deluxe, blah, blah, blah. Significant to us, however, is that
MacDonald's will no longer be opening "satellite" restaurants in
locations such as WALMART. (note: I need to see the story again to
distinguish between "opening" in new stores or "operating" in old
stores) They sited disappointing performance for getting out of this
market.
Well, one person's trash is another person's treasure, I say. I've
stopped in several Walmarts during my travels, hopeful to find Fry Guy
installations to check up on. And on many occasions (more than half)
I've been disappointed to see the Golden Arches there instead. I see the MacDonald's decision as an opportunity for further Fry Guy expansion into Walmarts, especially if MacDonald's is planning to close their existing MacDonald's/Walmart locations.
Let's also hope that this news will have a positive impact on Walmart's willingness to renew the Fry Guy contract which, I believe, will be expiring this year.
