Jeff,

Thanks for your response.

A couple of years ago I noticed that Chiron was on everyone's list. On examination, the company didn't seem to have enough going for it to warrant investment. On the Chiron thread here on SI the constant refrain was "great management"...and then the stock tanked from 30 to 20 and has pretty much sat in the 17-23 range for 2 years. Subsequent to the initial drop, "great management" was again the reason given for buying back in. Now, people are saying: "get a new CEO quickly".

TJ may be the man, but maybe being the man isn't enough. I saw TJ at the H-1 visa hearings and he seemed like a greedy man who would look out for TJ first (he thought paying a PhD $85K was outrageous). I would rather see a stable of products and facilities with long-term futures and some profitable partnerships than have any one person in the CEO slot.

Somewhere, someone mentioned TJ having a strategy to sell his own company's stock...Wow! What a conflict of interest. Again, I'd rather a CEO focus on growing the business than on buying and selling his shares (I don't think even the temptation to manipulate his own company's stock price should be present).

Can buying Cypress stock be justified in more fundemental ways than putting faith in the CEO?

Thanks,

Harold
