At the risk of being flamed by many posters to this thread, the hypocrisy of the oil price-fixing situation comes to mind. Sure, as an investor the increase in oil prices will benefit me but as a consumer it will hurt. We in this country boast of the capitalist system which declares that there should be no restraint of trade and that the price of a product should be set by fair competition, i.e. no manipulation by vested interests. So how come our government looks benevolently on OPEC controlling the price of oil? If an industry within this country were to try this they would be slapped with fines and other sanctions.
Just a passing thought .... :o)
