Best grade correlator, and some silver and some gold companies use it
is "long" range X-Ray fluroescence. It is a sensitive detector and you
can get used to it by the stope/ore type and it is not dangerous.

Units used underground were about $50K. This is cheap for a quick and
dirty "channeler" That might save a stope or two from closing or can
scan core quickly for kicks. Could be used on ground samples too for
quick recon.

Cominco used it from helicopters for reconnaissance and it worked
well. I have a suspicion it had something to do with Windy Craggy
years ago.

Numbers that really correlate have to be produced from some kind of
assay of the material finally. If you have a handle on the geology
then you can use quicky indicators to do the prelims. But grade mixing
has to have hard numbers.
