I just read "Business Week's" article on PCs. Although the text of the article tried to make the industry future sound clouded, the survey at the end of the article bodes nothing but good for the industry IMO. The article reports that average selling prices of home PCs fell 30% last year. It is hardly surprising that this should result in some problems for the PC industry. However a full 27% of those surveyed, said they were intending to buy a home PC next year. That is hugely positive, can you imagine 27% saying they planned on buying a new car? GM would have a heart attack! While I seriously doubt this will come to fruition it sure indicates the interest in home PCs present out there.
