Explanation of AG Edwards buy rec from Motley Fool boards: Subject: Re: New Coverage Author: Meadows Date: 3/18/98 11:20:23 PM (ET) AGEdwards also says the recent (over 50%) price decline was apparently caused by "the belief by some that the fundamental difficulties at PETSMART, PETCOs primary competitor, could be industry related" and (1) confusion surrounding the expectations for earnings in Q3 '97 (whatever they were) (2) the company's recent announcement that the integration of the 100 stores aquired in Q397 "would be more challenging than originally anticipated" In AGE's opinion the problems are not industry -related and the other issues will "not negatively impact the company's attractive long term growth prospects"
