Well, of course the Germani were as pagan as any other souls on earth before the message of Jesus Christ totally changed their ways of life.
What is still curious is the way they hung onto paganism well into the 12th, 13th and even 14th centuries. The Tuetonic Knights of God--German warrior monks of that period, were responsible for converting a lot of them, but I have never had one minute to check out how they did it, and who the true pagans were still worshipping. I know WHO, I just wonder by what mental image, and what physical representation they made him into.
