Ian, When I talked to IR after last week's preannouncement, I was told that SVGL may have to cut back on production unless orders picked up. (I missed the preannouncement conference call because I was on vacation, but I understand the conference call was a mess of confusion.) In the case of a cut back, the plan will be to continue manufacture of the optics portion of the machines, since that area is the current bottleneck. However, I was also told that the optics are somewhat customized for each customer, so any production done without firm orders in hand could require rework at some point in the future. There was also foreshadowing on last quarter's EPS conference call that production would outpace demand unless orders picked up. At that time, there was a vague assurance from Papken that customers had made verbal indications of intent to buy more Micrascans.
