You are definitely correct, IMO! MSFT needs to have (as all companies need to have) competition in order to encourage the 'best' product! I wouldn't want to see anybody disappear, but by the same token, I don't want the government to 'squash' anybody! Maybe MSFT could be 'limited' to market penetration at some percentage, and then MSFT would have to actually support the other manufacturer efforts, like Unix or Linex, DR-(w98)! Not every who has an idea wants to work for MSFT, or maybe they have already 'burned' out! The industry has to find a way to get the best that can be gotten from any source, and pay for that advance.

Tough problem, no easy answer!
