Dated... what really does that mean? Meta is moving their marking direction into a "mass" approach. I just returned from NY Seybold and Internet World LA this past week. Meta, of course, had a booth and also a booth at Intel partner podium. Now, I know this is nothing new to any of us who follow these companies so closely, but take the designer, Webmaster, and Art Director position... the people how buy this stuff. They see good products, wide line card, reasonable pricing and a "polished" company look.

Now, take some of the "high-end" companies. Many are changing their tune to stay afloat. Yes, there is KTX, MS (SoftImage), but I spoke with the folks at NewFire just yesterday and they want to "mirror" the Meta marketing direction. They will always have the "high-end" product line, but the sales on those types of products parallel those of the semiconductor equipment - slow, long product cycles.

Changing dynamics...
Just a thought...
