A Shareholder Revolt Rarely Works out...

A case in point is Waste Management - this high flyer went weak and the shareholders revolted and all of the Chaos cased the company to weaken further .... In the end they sold out.

While the disruption and forced changes at the BOD level may satisfy our emotional needs it could weaken the company further. Change for change sake is not good....

Anyone got examples of a successful revolt? What made it work? Was it the people who came in? A change in strategy?

In other words by changing the BOD what do you want to allow Schimdt to do? So once he has his team on the BOD what will the plan be? What is he seeking to change besides perception by realigning the BOD?

If it's just for credibility it is a bad idea - you could wind up changing strategy again.....
