Socially constructed realities are the norm if we exclude the divinely revealed truths of God.
Without God, every culture and every individual constructs their own understanding of reality. Among these socially and culturally constructed realities, truth is indeed relative to each particular culture's point of view. Without God and His revelation, truth is cultural reality and truths are relative.

This is why God has given us His Word. It provies us with a diving measuring stick whereby we can measure our socially constructed realities. The Word of God contains eternal truths from the creator of all things. The precepts in the Word are not relative to culture or social group. Consequently the Word of God provides us with a perception of reality that never varies. The ultimate Truth for man in this revealiton is that Jesus Christ has died for the sins of man so that man can be reconciled to God and thus become a son of God.
The struggle within every human heart to attain to a perfection and goodness that is unattainable by human effort points to the need for an external source of redemption. It is only through Christ that we can attain to that image of perfection.

Incidentally, did you know that Wagner became a Christian while researching the character of parcival for one of his operas.
