Probably the best value that I have seen is a small service company (drilling) called South Texas Drilling and Exploration (STXD). The have 8 rigs and the crews to run them...In November 1997 they were booked up for approximately 14 mo. Rumors were that they had at least one major driller try to buy them for about $4.00/shr. Since the latest oil pricings they may have slowed down a little but they kept the doors open for the last 15 yrs or so....they know how to conserve and have good crews which is a plus in the drilling world when things get hard.
